Simon Cooper

Partner

Simon joined Monahans in 1993 as a trainee in the Chippenham office. After qualifying, he gained experience in forensic accounting and corporate finance before returning to general practice in Chippenham, where he became a Partner in 2007.

Over more than 30 years with the firm, Simon has advised businesses ranging from sole traders to established owner-managed businesses. His work covers far more than compliance, helping clients with growth plans, restructuring, business sales, succession planning and tax matters, always with an eye on the wider commercial picture.

Simon particularly enjoys working with business owners to understand how their businesses operate before applying the technical tax and commercial legislation that supports their goals. He believes the best advice comes from understanding the whole business, not just the numbers, and takes pride in explaining complex issues in a way that clients can easily understand.

Whether helping someone launch a new business, advising an established company on its next stage of growth or supporting a business sale, Simon enjoys building long-term relationships and seeing the positive difference good advice can make.

Simon holds a BA and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA).

Outside work, Simon still enjoys a game of five-a-side football, follows international football and rugby, and, much to the amusement of everyone else, remains a loyal Luton Town supporter.

Reviews

"I use Xero with Receipt bank and also a plugin for my woocommerce website that feeds web orders into Xero. For me it's really helped as I can do my accounts from anywhere - it has saved me lots of time and paper."
